What to do with 3 tonnes of scrap rubber? - Investigation into the management of waste tyres

Through a project funded by the Australian Coal Association Research Program, the CMLR is collaborating with industry to:
  • Examine current scrap mine tyre management practices with special reference to legislation and waste management principles

    1. AVOID
    2. RECYCLE WASTE TO ENERGY
    3. TREATMENT
    4. DISPOSAL

  • Identify opportunities to ‘Reduce, Reuse and Recycle’ scrap mine tyres
  • Assess the practicality and cost of alternatives
